The products will be present in 2.5 million retail outlets and 5,000 stockists and distributors. It will have a rural presence in 80,000 villages with two lakh outlets and will be able to reach out to 200 million households.
Tata Global Beverages currently reaches out to 110 million households. Integration of distribution channels would be one of the initial tasks for the new entity. Combined distribution will deepen the reach of each product and add to their sales.Consolidation of brands will be another major task. Salt, Tea and Coffee are currently the three major categories of Tata Consumer Products. Tea accounts for 57 per cent of the sales, salt 18 per cent and coffee 13 per cent. Emerging segments like pulses, spices, ready-to-eat mixed and other nutrition products account for the remaining 12 per cent sales and these were promoted aggressively in the past few years through modern trade and e-commerce channels.
Kotak Securities expects that Tata will retain leadership in tea and innovate in salt, continue to ramp up Tata Starbucks and improve distribution of Himalayan brand of packaged drinking water.Post-consolidation of the existing brands, it will look into newer categories like dairy, personal care and home care. For pipes, 1,099 participants had a current daily habit, while 78 people used

cancers that have been tied to tobacco use, cigarette smokers have four times
the risk of people who never used tobacco, but cigar smokers are 61 per cent
more likely to die of these cancers and pipe users have 58 percent higher odds.
"Patients often do not associate occasional use of cigar or pipes with health
risks, but this study shows that current, particularly daily, cigar use is
associated with increased overall risk of death,†Ong, who wasn’t involved in

have postponed examinations for an indefinite period.In Tripura, Internet
services remained suspended for the second day and paramilitary forces along
with Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel were deployed on Wednesday in some
districts that were rocked by anti-CAB violence.

were fired and lathicharge was carried out against agitators at Moran also,
police said.A day after Assam witnessed total shutdown in protest against CAB,
on Wednesday thousands of students from every college in Guwahati, including
those from Guwahati Medical College, Assam Engineering College, took out a
massive protest march on the Guwahati-Shillong Road, the city’s main road
leading to the state secretariat in Dispur. Despite the curfew, arson continued
in several areas.Tyres were burnt and logs placed on roads and rail tracks to
stop movement of vehicles and trains across the state. College students burn
tyres during the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill in Guwahati on
Wednesday. Several students were caned by police and tear gas shells were also
fired to disperse the crowd.
The injured students were rushed to Assam Medical College. Protesting
students also forced shopkeepers to close their shops and at some places they
tried to vandalise shops. However, police team chasing the protestors managed to
avert any major incident.Informing that the Army was called in Bongaigaon
district after some anti-CAB protesters tried to vandalise a village, security
sources added that the Army was on standby as police and CRPF had managed to
control the situation.In the violent protests, six vehicles were burnt,
including two school buses, by the protesters in front of the state
secretariat.In similar protests that rocked Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Sibsagar
districts, several students sustained injuries in police lathi-charge.The
Congress has called a shutdown in the state on Thursday after party workers were
injured in baton charge by the TSR when they took out a torch rally in protest
against the CAB.15 pm, was later extended indefinitely, Assam’s additional
director general (law and order) Mukesh Agrawal told PTI.
